The Senate, when it is not being manipulated for partisan purposes (see Duffy) serves to be a house of sober reflection. Elected senators will only add to the problems that are there. Fixed terms, the way that Harper sees it, is not a solution, only pandering.

Powell - I tend to agree: Canada's relationship with Quebec has been mildly poisonous for too long - politically and nationally. Eventually somebody'll have to do something about it.
Cherniak - yeah, fixed term limits really isn't the solution that the Senate needs. There are a whole slew of problems, and fixed term limits doesn't really address any of them. It might have been kind of a nice gesture though - every so often it's kind of nice to be pandered to...

Patrick Ross, I'm guessing that you paid proper royalties for using that AC/DC song or are you breaking the law?

As a matter of fact, it has everything to do with Cherniak hanging his nuts out to dry on the matter of bullet holes that, as the video demonstrates, look nothing like actual bullet holes.
Which, naturally, brings us full circle back to the (hopefully) unintentional hilarity of Cherniak suggesting Powell Lucas is retarded, considering that we can already see that Chuckles just isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer -- not by a longshot.
